Welcome to the homestretch!
Our budget plan is a success.
Through departmental cuts and working collaboratively with our unions we have a plan in place to keep Chico solvent. The council
has been committed to getting public input on the General Plan. It will protect our vision to keep Chico a great place to
live, work, and play. Your vote is needed to continue this good work.
I'm proud of the last four years in service to
you and our community as councilmember and mayor. My dedication to the values we share, for the special sense of place that
is Chico, has only grown stronger and more steadfast. If nothing else, over the past four years I've learned the value of
patience and commitment. I ask for your vote of confidence and support so I may continue to be a voice for you and our city.
Background information: Since coming to Chico in 1978 as a volunteer attorney in the VISTA program, I have
been actively involved in many public service endeavors. I believe in our community, and in both our individual and collective
ability to make it better.
One of my strengths as an attorney, and as an advocate for you as a Council Member, is my
ability to listen. Listen not only to what a client or you may want, but to the other side too. Listen to the many voices
of our community. Listen, learn and explore strengths and weaknesses, and then work to form a plan of action to give voice
to what I've heard.
My role as your City Councilor is one of collective problem solving through thoughtful planning
and community consensus building.
